In addition to compensation for your injuries you can claim:-
- Medical treatment, prescriptions and other medication, even private medical treatment, for example chiropractic treatment, physiotherapy or osteopath treatment can be claimed in addition to prescriptions, hire of crutches, wheelchairs etc.
- Travel expenses, for example to see your GP or go to the hospital. Mileage can be claimed if travel is by car.
- Wasted subscriptions/membership fees - for example gym membership.
- Insurance excess, loss of use of car.
- Wasted holiday costs.
- Gratuitous care provided by friends or relatives - including assistance with personal hygiene, cleaning, washing, shopping, housework etc. If provided on a professional basis, receipts will be required. If the care is provided by a friend or a member of the family, the hourly rate is slightly less than for a professional carer.
- Gardening/DIY/Decorating - this can be reimbursed if carried out by a professional or an agreed hourly rate if by a friend or family member.
